How much does it cost?

The short answer is probably not as much as you might think. This is because the Group's Observers are all volunteers who give their time free in the cause of furthering road safety.

The cost for the one-off Assessment called DriveCheck is £25. The assessment is done by a Group Observer, and the cost covers the briefing, the 45 minute drive and a written report.

For the "older and wiser" driver there is the DriveCheck55 assessment, a 60 minute drive with an IAM qualified examiner in your own car. On completion you will be given a comprehensive driving report.This costs £35

The main programme offered by the IAM is the Skill For Life package which includes

  • As many advanced driving sessions as needed, with an experienced Observer
  • A copy of the IAM's 'Advanced Driving' manual
  • The IAM Advanced Driving test and fee
  • Membership for one year after passing the Advanced Test
  • Associate Membership for one year of the Camelot Group
  • Monthly social meetings of the Camelot Group
